WHY WE PLAY
The idea for the Summer Wiffle Ball Classic came from 16-year-old, Alex Malloy a Hingham resident and patient at Boston Children’s Hospital being treated for Gorham Stout, a rare bone disease of the lymphatic system. Alex is teaming up with Dan Ventresca, who was raised in Hingham and was also treated at Boston Children’s for Gorham Stout disease. Alex and Dan have a Gorham Stout connection but they also have a love of sports connection. Thus, a wiffle ball tournament is the perfect fit for a fun community event that raises awareness and funds for such an important cause.
Alex and Dan have both received life saving medical treatment at Boston Children’s for this extremely rare disease. For more information
